Fun Run Game app review multi-player race game for Android and iOS iPhones

The Hooked On Droid email box receives 12 to 30 review requests per week. I wish I had the time to download, learn, play, explore all of them, but honestly most of them just sit in my email box and rot. The apps which most intrigue me and inspire me to review them are productivity apps (like Vlingo and Iris and Plan B - two of which I really like) and good multi-player games where you can play a game of Words with Friends with your buddy in Dubai.

So, when I got an email to review Fun Run, a game developed by DirtyBit.no, I was interested because at first because it's a multi-player game, but secondly, and probably more importantly, who doesn't love a game in which you can chop off the head of a cute furry little cartoon character? See what I'm saying?

Fun Run is a multi-player race game on both Android and the iOS mobile platforms, so you can download it for free and play against both Android and iPhone users (as well as the iPad, and most other tablets). It doesn't seem to be available on Amazon.com, so if you have a Kindle Fire, you may be out of luck for a while.

After downloading and opening the game on my HTC Thunderbolt, I was given the option to Register or Login. On the registration page a Username is required, but there is an option for providing you Email address and setting up a Password. This information is needed if you wish to sync your data across multiple devices.

The object is for the nice little furry characters to compete in a race (you can play against the computer, real friends or random players). And, in the game, you are allowed, nay, encouraged to do everything in your power to mutiltate and destroy your furry little friends. No evil arch rival here. You want to kill that pretty, pink little teddy bear if at all possible. All of the furry little cartoon characters in the game look pretty cute. But when you look closer, they all do look a bit demented. Another plus in my book.

You can earn Power Ups to perform such tasks as beheading your opponent or throw a razor-sharp sawblade at them.

Hmmmm. I think I like their attitude here.

I started by playing a practice game and got the hang of it pretty quickly. Once I realized that i had to jump over rocks and how to throw a sawblade at creatures ahead of me, I thought I did quite well. Only three runners came in ahead of me. Oh wait, there are only four. Okay, I suck, but it was fun enough that I was encouraged to go on.

Not really huge on racing games, but if you are you'll probably like it.

I'm not going to take the time to request that some of my friends download it and play against me just yet. First I'm going to have to beat the little furry bots and then decapitate some total strangers. Then, when I know I'm able to beat all of my real friends, I'll tell them about it.

Because it's all about me...winning. :)
